EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Minerva
was a Roman goddess of Crafts and Wisdom. In DC Metro, we have attempted to recreate the ambiance, atmosphere and the flavors of Authentic South Indian Food using our Crafts & Wisdom that make a visit to the Minerva so memorable. We hope your visit will give you a taste of fine glimpse of India and its rich cuisine.

Contrary to popular belief, Indian food is not and does not have to be spiced overly hot to be enjoyed. In fact, the art in Indian cookery lies in the delicacy of the spicing. In order to be able to satisfy all our patrons, we offer different levels of spicing for almost all of the items on our menu.

Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will be pleased to familiarize you with the various levels of spicing and also assist you in the selection of your dinner menu. Please do not hesitate to consult your steward. With our courteous and attentive service we will endeavor to make your food experience at Minerva a memorable one and hope that it will leave you with a desire to come back, again and again.

Here is a suggestion we think will enhance your food experience at Minerva and make it more adventurous and hopefully more enjoyable too.   There is no way around it;  “Indian food tastes best when eaten with your fingers!”  There is a tactile dimension added to the eating process. Besides, Indian food is designed to be eaten by hand. Breads are to be torn and wrapped around foods. Rice (not necessary to eat with fingers) is customarily blended with curries so each mouthful is unique. Eating with your fingers is a cultural experience everyone should experience while visiting an Indian restaurant. We will be pleased to provide finger bowls and or wet naps in order cleanup after your meal. And just like eating with chopsticks in a Chinese restaurant, feel free to switch back to silverware if you are not enjoying the experience.
In any event, rest assured that your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to the ownership and staff at Minerva.

 
 

OBJECTIVES

Minerva’s goal is to continue to build on its long-standing success and become the leading source high Quality Indian Food.

Objectives for the next Three years of operation include:

  • While the decor could use some re-touching, all the dishes that come out of the kitchen are perfect as is. We decided to Re-model our existing three locations in Virginia along with our Atlanta Location to make them all upscale and yet simplistically elegant.
  • Adding a Banquet hall to our existing Chantilly Restaurants by adding 2500 sqft. from the adjoining location.
  • Keeping food cost under 25% of revenue.
  • Keeping employee labor cost between 30% and 35% of revenue.
  • Averaging sales in each location around 1.5 Million (one and half Million)  dollars per year.
  • Maintaining tight controls on costs and operations by hiring a managing partner/proprietor for each location and utilizing automated computer/Internet control.

Our Mission is to be the best Indian food provider in the East-Coast. We will accomplish this by exceeding our guests escalating expectations for specialized service, quality food, distinctive ambiance and value, and by providing our employees with respect, career opportunities, and an environment for personal growth. This will result in a financially sound, highly profitable restaurant company.
