Minerva is unique as an Indian restaurant anywhere in the world. It is a gourmet trail of the many diverse regions of India. It serves food from as many as six different regions of India and has a team of specialist chefs recruited from India or trained in India, each producing their own regional specialties. This makes Minerva, the winner of more appreciation than any other Indian restaurant in the Washington Metro area.

DC Metro’s traditional South Indian Restaurant, Minerva, was opened in April 1998. Since its inception we introduced the first daily lunch buffet, we has been drawing big crowds and till today holds as popular as ever. The welcome response to our restaurant in the city made us decide to open our second restaurant. We bought ‘Eastern Buffet’ in Fairfax city in the year 2000 and totally refashioned Minerva in Fairfax, which again won the appreciation of the city.

We at Minerva had a life long passion for real Indian food, and have traveled the length and breadth of India, so that we could provide you with the same culinary delights that were relished by the Maharaja's of India's glorious past.

BUFFET

The daily lunch buffet features Tandoori Chicken, Naans, various meat curries,  lamb, or goat, and a large selection of vegetarian preparations such as Guthi Vankaya, Dhondakaya Vepudu, Palakura Pappu, mattar paneer, kabli channa, subzi jalfrazie, punjabi kadhi, saag, aloo korma etc.

In addition to the great entree selections we feature freshly prepared salads and yogurt, papadums and pickels as part of the daily buffet.

No buffet will be complete without the sweet palate being satisfied. At Minerva we take care of this need by offering desserts such as ras-malai, gulab-jamun, kasmiri kheer and halwa, firni, and patisa. Our team of culinary experts, who hail from different states of South India, take great pride in featuring only the very best quality preparations on a daily basis. With a seating capacity of 180,  our restaurant in Fairfax, VA becomes one of the largest restaurants in the area with Ample free parking.  The buffet at Minerva is rated as the Best Indian Buffet in VA, 23020 three years in a row by the local Magazines.  With this grand success of quality and variety Indian food, we have opened another successful Minerva Indian Cuisine in Alparetta, GA (an Atlanta sub-urban location) with about 12,000 SqFt. of dining and kitchen space which provided 240 dining capacity and two separate banquet facilities in May 2002. In the same theme, Minerva Indian Cuisine at Chantilly – VA was opened in July 2005.

Our exceptionally experienced staff is able to tailor the event to your specific needs while retaining the excellent quality of food and service that Minerva is known for.

We offer our catering services in DC Metro and Atlanta Metro.

We take pride in bringing to our customers the inherited tradition of this unique culinary art of the tandoor (Indian clay ovens) that create the exotic world-famous tastes in the Indian cuisine.

However, should you wish to enjoy the experience in the comfort of your home, all of our locations are well equipped to provide a full take-out service.

It could be a corporate business meeting or a "Special Party/Event", have your next event at Minerva, Chantilly in Virginia.  We are adding a private banquet room that seats up to 150. The banquet room is a private room, which has Hot-Spots and Projector for all your presentations.  The Restaurant is also available on a buy-us-out basis for groups up to 250 guests.  We will let other types of foods to be catered in with use of our Party Room or Restaurant (Certain rules and restrictions apply).
